National Geoparks are geoscientifically important and scenic areas among domestic geology, and are recognized by the Minister of Environment to preserve them and use them for education and tourism.

 

Cheongsong was recognized as a National Geopark on April 11, 2014.

 

 

National Geopark Application Area

- A place with high conservation value due to the excellent archaeological, ecological, and cultural factors related to geology.

- A place that can promote regional economic development through the protection and utilization of geological heritage.

- A place where there are geological attractions or historical relics in the geopark, and it is worth preserving in harmony with the natural landscape.

- Other places that meet the requirements announced by the Minister of Environment for certification of geoparks.
